The day I gave my life to Christ, I could not stop thinking about Him. He was always on my mind. I was not ashamed to tell a stranger about the Savior that took me just as I was and changed me to be a better person, the Savior that gave me a new lease of life and new hope.
I now look back and wonder with time I became cold, I got used to God I could skip a day without praying. I could stay a day without being consciously aware that I am a christian, a day will pass without mentioning the name Jesus. What happened? Has the first love vanished into thin air? Love does not waver due to circumstances, love does not grow cold when the storms come but love is strengthened in our weaknesses. Choose to love Him regardless of what you are going through and remember to do those things that you used to do to keep the relationship going. Pray more, witness Jesus to the world, study the bible more and hide His word in your heart. Return to the first love because God cares so much about you, He found you worthy of His only Son’s death, that is how much He loves me and you.
When was the last time you prayed to God, without caring about anything else but His fellowship. The time you had a one on one moment with God, when it was all about Him and so much less about you. The time you remembered all the good and excellent things He has done for you. That moment where ONLY God matters and where your needs do not matter. Just basking in His glory and His presence.
Can you imagine, when it is all about Him, when His glory is shining upon your face. Where you fall down on your knees and give Him the worship that which He is worthy of. Where you don’t care about the empty bank account or an empty food shelf but all your focus is on the one who died at the cross of Calvary for the redemption of our souls. Can we make it about Jesus, the one who was and who is and is to come!
I long for that moment and I pray that I be on that moment everyday of my life. I pray that the first love I had for Christ may not diminish in my life. How I wish you could also say the same thing and I believe Christianity will be more than a religion but a lifestyle. Lets not forget the greatest commandment; “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” Mark 12:29-30. To God be the Glory.
I love you all, stay Divine!
