We are used to being comfortable and we are comfortable leaving normal lives. We think when everything is normal its good for us, but I beg to differ that there is no growth in normality and there is no progress in normality. Be uncomfortable, be different and be abnormal, that is what goal achievement is about! Successful people do not live normal lives, they stretch beyond their comfortable limits in order for them to enjoy the privileges which many comfortable people do not have access to.
Nothing comes to you when you are seated and doing nothing, even if God can give you favor and you continue sitting doing nothing you will die before it manifests in your life. Genesis 3:19 “By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground…” This is a principle that all man shall live by, it is a law of nature you need to work for your food!
Once you have set your goals, you need to work hard for them to come to life. Your energy is required at every level for you to achieve your goals. The successful people do not wait for things to happen around them, they make things happen. Take a stand go to places that requires your services, go and look for that job be the change that you want. For things to change in your life, you first need to change, discipline yourself, break old habits and start new habits that will elevate you and take you one step closer to your goals.
I have once said, “Every day is a go getter’s day” and I still believe that. Every day is the best day to go after you dreams and to pursue them without getting weary, do it every day and make it your habit. The go getter’s do not wait for opportunities, they create opportunities, they create relationships which will help them to achieve their goals. Though some may go about it the wrong way by not caring how they get what they want, I advise that you should care very much how you get want you desire, because you do not want it to bite you back just when you have achieved your goals!
God expects you to work hard for your dreams and he discourages laziness, Proverbs 6:9-11 states that; “How long will you lie there, you sluggards? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.” Laziness is not an option for anybody who wants to achieve great things in their life. You need to pick up yourself every time you feel like skipping a day off your goal pursuit. You do not have to wait to feel like doing it, but you have to work even harder when you do not feel like working. It is not about how you feel but about the decision you have made for your life.
Network with people in your industry and create connections which will take you to greater lengths. Share valuable information with your associates and they will do the same for you. Help others and they will return the favor when the time arrives. Love people around you and they will love you back and by so doing their hearts will be open for you and they will help you to get to your dreams by great measures you never thought they would. Be the pillar of strength for somebody and they will support you as you go for your dreams. Relationships are better than money, value them more than you value money and you will be surrounded by miracles. Proverbs 22:1 states that, “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”
Now that you have developed confidence to go after your dreams, we will talk more on the next stage next week.
